Steps in Khadi Process

The yarn is produced from the natural cotton by conventional methods using the charka.
The pure cotton collected from cotton farms is first ginned and made into rolls of bales. These bales are then converted into rowing.

They are then distributed to different spinning units under the institution in Guntur District. In the spinning units, the cotton fiber is converted into yarns manually by using charkas. The spinners make them into hanks.

The yarn is dyed to desired colour using cold or hot water process, depending upon the colour and fabric.

Hanks are soaked in water for one day and left in the natural sunlight for three days to dry. They are then sized and finished.
